Alligator or Crocodile?

How can you tell the difference between an American Alligator and an American Crocodile?

Well, one main difference is their teeth. American Alligators' teeth only show if their mouths are open. American Crocodiles, even with their mouths snapped shut, display a tooth on either side of their lower jaw. Other crocs can show a bristle of sharp lower teeth.

If you don't want to get close enough to them to see their teeth, you can tell the difference by their snouts. Alligators have broad snouts while crocodiles have long, tapered ones.
