Carving pumpkins is a tradition in the United States that was brought over by immigrants from Ireland and Scotland. In Ireland and Scotland there is a long tradition of carving vegetables like turnips, mangelwurzel, and rutabaga. When they came to America they brought the tradition and found that pumpkins were larger and more available. At first carved pumpkins were used for the harvest season but it eventually became part of Halloween.

tails

While dogs wag their tails when they are happy, cats wag theirs when in a stage of conflict, or anger. If a cat has to decide between going through an open door to go outside, or stay inside, it will wag its tail reflecting internal conflict. Otherwise, if you are holding a cat that doesn't want to be held, and it wags its tail violently, you should probably put the cat down before the claws do the talking.

Money & time

The hands of the clock on the back of the $100 bill are set at approximately 4:10. Although the time is not readily identifiable to the naked eye, it can be seen when examined with 20-fold magnification. There are no records explaining why that particular time was chosen.
